Business development & innovation

Curious by default. Hands-on by choice.

Hi, I’m Philip, a business developer based in Munich. I work on new business ideas and technology, bringing together customer research, pilot operations, and the people needed to make them work. I’ve also founded and launched ventures of my own, taking ideas from the business model to a working website and app.

Away from work, you’ll find me tinkering with my homelab, riding gravel, or exploring somewhere new.

What I bring

  • Business developmentExploring opportunities and shaping business models.
  • Customer understandingUsing interviews and feedback to test assumptions.
  • Getting ideas into practiceSetting up pilots, coordinating people, and improving operations.
  • Entrepreneurial ownershipTaking responsibility from an early concept through launch.

Building things
people want to use.

I enjoy taking an idea into the real world: understanding what customers need, setting up a pilot, and learning from how people use it. That entrepreneurial approach runs through both my work within established organizations and the ventures I’ve built myself.

My work often sits between customers, teams, and external partners. I help connect what we learn from customers with the practical details of setting up a pilot, coordinating responsibilities, and keeping things moving.

Piloting an interactive test drive

A project designed to help prospective customers explore a car’s features during the drive itself, with less need for a salesperson to explain each one. I contributed from the outset, focusing on pilot setup, day-to-day operations, and improvements to the experience.

Customers responded enthusiastically, and collecting their feedback firsthand helped us refine the experience around how people actually used it.

Launching a travel-tech venture

I founded and launched a gamified tourism platform designed to make travel experiences more engaging and create new revenue opportunities. I took it from business concept to launch, including the website and app.

One lesson stayed with me: a cool idea doesn’t sell itself. It needs to resonate with people, and communicating why it matters is as important as building it.

Tools & practical skills

  • Customer insight & analysisUnderstanding what people need through interviews, feedback, and data—and turning that understanding into clearer decisions.
  • CommunicationMaking complex ideas clear, adapting the message to the audience, and building shared understanding so people can decide what comes next.
  • Applied AIPutting AI to work on everyday tasks and practical projects. My experience spans a range of platforms and self-hosted models.
  • Technical curiosityLinux, self-hosting, home automation, and programming—learning as I build.

A good idea usually means
trying it myself.

Sometimes I have an idea. Sometimes I see a project online and immediately want to understand how it works. Either way, there’s a fair chance I’ll try building it.

Tinkering & homelab

Home automation, a media server, and self-hosted photo storage: my homelab is where useful projects turn into an excuse to learn. I enjoy figuring out how the hardware and software fit together—and getting something working myself.

Games & strategy

Board games, video games, card games, and pétanque. I enjoy exploring different strategies, figuring things out together, and spending time with friends.

Gravel, travel
& photography

Gravel rides, a camera, and the occasional detour. I like exploring new places and noticing the details along the way. When I travel, I try to fit everything into one bag and leave room for plans to change.

German roots.
Brazilian ease.

Being German–Brazilian is part of how I see the world. I’ve spent about a quarter of my life abroad, and moving between languages and cultures has given me an appreciation for different ways of doing things.

Personally, I like having a plan—and enough flexibility to change it. Sometimes that means working through the details; sometimes it means a little improvisation and Brazilian jeitinho.

Outside work, life revolves around my family, my dog, and finding time to get outdoors.
